As part of the lecture series Practical Examples of Industrial Applications of the Finite Element Method, Dr. Anuwat Suwannachit, senior development engineer at Continental, will speak on Virtual development in Tire Research & Development on 21 July.

Dr. Suwannachit gives the following insight into his lecture: "Our customers (e.g., car manufacturers, bus fleets, transport companies etc.) and Continental have the same goal to achieve the lowest overall driving costs. By this, some aspects such as tire rolling loss, durability and mileage are of our major concern. The optimised tire design could be obtained with the help of computer simulation based on the finite element method. This presentation will point out how the simulation tools help us accelerate the tire development process."

The lecture will be held in English.
