We welcome Dr. Zhibao Zheng, who is joining the Institute of Mechanics and Computational Mechanics for the next two years as an Alexander von Humboldt fellow. Dr. Zheng studied civil engineering at the Harbin Institute of Technology in China and obtained his PhD in 2019.

His research expertise is on stochastic finite element simulations, and in particular on stochastic Newton methods for high dimensional and nonlinear problems. With that expertise he also fits perfectly to the International Research Training Group IRTG 2657, to which he is associated.
