Joined work with University of Oxford: Phase Field Cohesive Zone Modeling for #Fatigue Crack Propagation in Quasi-Brittle Materials

Very happy to share with you that our paper "Phase Field Cohesive Zone Modeling for #Fatigue Crack Propagation in Quasi-Brittle Materials" has been accepted for publication in Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering #CMAME.

A great #collaboration between:
Abedulgader Baktheer (RWTH Aachen University)
Emilio Martínez Pañeda, Ph.D. (University of Oxford)
Fadi Aldakheel (Leibniz Universität Hannover)

In this work, we developed a phase-field cohesive zone approach for fatigue simulation in #concrete with open-access code in #abaqus; combined with comprehensive experimental #validation under a wide range of loading scenarios; as well as a #unified_approach for #low- and #high-cycle fatigue, pre- and post-peak cyclic behavior and concluding with #suggestions for better fatigue simulations considering several fatigue key aspects.

P.S. I would like to thank the #5_reviewers for their intensive, detailed, and great comments and suggestions ^-*
