Basic Idea of this research project is on the enhancement of well-established techniques in computational mechanics of materials with innovative stochastic finite element computations. Input data like initial distribution of elastic properties and micro-crack densities are modelled as random fields. New computational techniques have to be developed for cyclic evolution of damage variables to be modelled as stochastic processes. Goal of this research is on the establishment of reliable computational techniques for the probabilistic service life prediction of infrastructure buildings.
